We’re open all year round
Roll on the springtime, longer days to relax in beautiful Fermanagh.
We are Shenanigan Stud Therapy Herd, formed by herd human Jo Wheatley, during the dark days of the COVID lockdown of 2020.
Briar and Bella, our two retired racehorses, were joined by a pregnant miniature Shetland pony called Mai, along with her 5 month old son Pixel, who came from an animal hoarding situation. Mai gave birth to her second son Juno in 2021, and it was a delight to see big Briar taking on the role of herd leader to his very own family.
This connection not only helped us get through personal grief during those years, but also blossomed into a vibrant family of animals that naturally engage with visitors of all ages. It was wonderful to see the whole community start to engage with the herd when we were situated in the centre of a village in the Cotswolds.
In 2024 we relocated to Tempo, near Enniskillen, in beautiful County Fermanagh, and we are all happily settled in our forever home.
Charity no NIC110484, Shenanigan Stud Therapy Herd is committed to providing a forever home for animals that need our help. We took in two goats and another mini Shetland called Hope in 2025, and it's wonderful to see them integrating into our animal family.
All donations go directly towards caring for the animals, and affordability is never a barrier for those who wish to visit.
The door is always open to those looking to connect with the herd, there is no fixed charge as it is important for us to share the benefits of animal therapy than turn people away who are in emotional, and financial, distress.
Any donation is welcomed during visits, or via our PayPal account.

Equine assisted therapy is a therapeutic approach that involves interactions between individuals and horses to promote emotional, physical, and mental well-being.
In non-ridden equine assisted therapy, participants engage with our animal family face to face, supported by our herd human.
These interactions can help improve self-esteem, reduce anxiety, enhance communication skills, and foster emotional growth by building a connection with the horses.
We offer a safe space for children and adults with complex needs and their carers.
